Daveiga participa en el programa escolar «Da Escola á granxa» 2023
El Progreso: «Daveiga, the brand that’s committed to people and the region».
The Rural Affairs Department of the Lugo Provincial Council created the ‘Da Escola á Granxa’ program to give students in the province a firsthand look at how certain food products are made, as well as to show them the origin of the raw materials used to produce them.
Daveiga is one of the 29 rural entrepreneurship projects participating in the ‘Da Escola á Granxa’ program, which includes farms, small-scale agricultural operations, and food workshops from various regions, engaged in a variety of activities, ranging from the production of fruit and garden produce to the raising of cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, and horses, as well as the production of cheeses and jams.
All visitors tour the Daveiga facilities with our guides, who explain the production process for the toasted bread, its history and origins, and Daveiga’s mission, vision, and values during the tour. After the tour of the bakery, the visit concludes with a tasting of mariñeiras in our dining room.
In addition, at the end of the tour of the bakery, students receive a copy of the book “Os Bolechas. From School to Farm”,, which the Department of Rural Affairs publishes in collaboration with Bolanda to promote the program and encourage product tasting.

The Rural Affairs Department is funding the field trips requested by parents’ associations that are taking place during the second half of the year. Nearly 4,000 students from schools in Becerreá, A Pobra do Brollón, Triacastela, Oural (Sarria), Monterroso, Santa Rita de Galdo and Lois Tobío (Viveiro), Terra Chá de Román, Insúa Bermúdez and Mato Vizoso (Vilalba), Riotorto, Xove, Samos, Xermade, Outeiro de Rei, O Páramo, Pantón, Palas de Rei, O Cantel, and No. 1 (Foz), Alfoz, Quiroga, Guntín, Ribadeo, A Pastoriza, Bretoña (A Pastoriza), Castro de Rei, O Incio, Taboada, Bóveda, Monforte, Paradela, Muras, Sano Cosme de Barreiros, and A Milagrosa, Lousada, As Mercedes, Santa María, and Casás (Lugo).
