Daveiga Producción Responsable wrapped up yesterday’s event at the Hesperia Finisterre Hotel in A Coruña, where the second edition of the Cantábrico Excelente Awards was held. According to the organizers, Suplementos y Monográficos S.L., “the

About thirty companies and professionals from the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias, and Galicia attended the gala, an event that also aims to serve as a meeting place for the award recipients to exchange experiences and build synergies.
This new seal of quality for Daveiga is a recognition of the company’s work and approach. “It confirms that the philosophy we adopted more than a decade ago was the right one, based on four fundamental pillars: food quality and safety, the social economy, fair pricing, and a commitment to the environment and local development,” says Xosé Lois Lamazares, manager of Daveiga.
Cantábrico Excelente Product of the Year
Daveiga’s Mariñeiras® bread crackers are made with natural ingredients, without artificial additives or preservatives. These bread crackers—also known as crumbless bread or ship’s bread—have a unique wavy shape with a texture and crunch that make them very pleasant to chew. They are easy to digest, suitable for any culinary use, highly resistant to moisture absorption, and have a long shelf life.
All these features make our toasts a unique product, suitable for all ages.
After 10 years in business, Daveiga Producción Responsable has seen its revenue grow exponentially each year, has doubled its workforce to 24 employees, and has begun exporting to Portugal and the United Kingdom.
The production facility in Chantada currently produces seven varieties: butter, extra virgin olive oil, organic, whole-grain, unsalted, with chia seeds, and with seaweed.

The exceptional flavor, texture, ingredients, and shelf life of Mariñeiras® bread toasts, as well as the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, have earned Daveiga Producción Responsable other awards, such as the 2008 Business Excellence Award, the Superior Taste Award in 2009, the Flavor of the Year award in 2010, and the Leader in Quality in the food sector in Galicia in 2012.
