La empresa gallega Lugar da Veiga, que produce las Galletas Marineras, figura nuevamente, tras aparecer en los años 2018 y 2019, en el ranking que elabora el Financial Times sobre las entidades que más rápido crecen de toda Europa.

Daveiga has also received four Ardán awards: the Gazelle Certificate, the High Performance Certificate, the Wealth Generator Certificate, and the Well-Managed Company Certificate.

The Galician company Lugar da Veiga, a producer of “marineras” cookies, has reappeared in the ranking compiled by the Financial Times in collaboration with Statista, FT 1000: Europe’s Fastest-Growing Companies, which lists the 1,000 European companies with the highest growth rates in recent years. The company, which has carved out a niche for itself among the 34 food companies featured in a ranking dominated primarily by firms in the technology, construction, and services sectors,  has achieved an absolute growth rate of 171.8% for the 2016–2019 period and is appearing on this list for the third time, having previously been included in 2018 and 2019.

Lugar da Veiga SLL was incorporated in January 2005 to launch the Daveiga Responsible Production business project, whose main strategic pillar is a commitment to the social economy and local development, highlighting, among other things, its commitment to labor responsibility, rural development, food quality and safety, and respect for the environment. In addition, Daveiga has an Integrated Quality, Environmental, and Food Safety Management System that includes ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, UNE 166002, IFS Food, and BRC certifications.

The project, which began with just five employees, now has more than 70 people working at its facilities, producing more than 6,000 kg of Galletas Marineras per day and generating revenue of 6,570,000€ last year.

Lugar da Veiga also receives four Ardán indicators

The Vigo Area Consortium has once again recognized the Galician companies that achieve the best results across various factors related to competitive performance. In this regard, Lugar da Veiga was one of the few companies to achieve four out of the nine indicators: Gazelle, High Performance, Wealth Generator, and Well-Managed.Of the 35,000 companies analyzed, only 5% meet the criteria to qualify for any indicator of good business practices.

In addition to these awards, over the past year, the company has also been awarded the SME of the Year prize, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Santander Bank, as well as the Plimsoll certificate for business excellence in the Spanish specialty long-life bread sector.

“The social and rural economy has a future,” this is the vision of the Daveiga project, a project that once again demonstrates that it is possible to be profitable while remaining committed to people, workers, and the environment.
