Daveiga is committed to promoting culture and cinema

For Daveiga, May was a month devoted entirely to cinema. We love cinema as a form of culture, as entertainment, and as a means of expression of any kind, as long as it offers something productive and unique.
Because we believe that innovative cultural initiatives need support, this May we are once again backing the Vigo International Film Festival, , by sponsoring the 6th edition of Primavera do Cine , which took place from May 4 to 14.
Music videos, animation, masterclasses, and short films—with Angolan cinema taking center stage this year—were some of the highlights of this event, which drew hundreds of people to the cinema, thanks in part to Daveiga, among others.
And from sponsoring a festival to sponsoring a specific audiovisual project, «Charkpen» (Hope) by Némesis Creaciones. It is a short documentary filmed in Argentine Patagonia, a work that is primarily photographic (in video), offering us a reflection on the journey from chaos to hope. Through the figure of a Selk’nam indigenous woman, we are presented with the opportunity to become aware of humanity’s state of chaos in order to try to change things. A return to our origins, to respect for nature, and to promoting a sustainable way of life.
At Daveiga, we decided to support this project because we share the same philosophy and because, in a way, we’re repaying the debt we owe to Argentina when it comes to «creating» our bread toasts.

«Charkpen» will tour film festivals around the world , and in this way we will bring the name of Daveiga to places that would otherwise be very difficult for us to reach, while also associating it with sustainability in both our production methods and our relationship with the land.
Back in June, we participated in the events of Filmadrid, the International Film Festival , which took place from June 8 to 17. This isn’t the first time we’ve partnered with this event, which allows us to be in Madrid for 10 days and lets all attendees enjoy our mariñeiras. It’s a true honor and a source of great satisfaction that they continue to count on us.
