Medio Rural highlights Daveiga's commitment to innovation and the transformation of agricultural products
Some stories are about the product. Others are about purpose. In recent days, we’ve had the opportunity to host an official visit at our Chantada facility: the Regional Minister for Rural Affairs, María José Gómez, accompanied by senior officials from her department, came to see our work firsthand as part of the Regional Monitoring Committee for the CAP Strategic Plan (Pepac). This meeting invites us to pause for a moment and reflect on the progress we’ve made—and, above all, on everything that still lies ahead.
Innovating Without Losing Sight of Our Roots
Since our inception, we at Daveiga have been clear that innovation doesn’t mean forgetting where we came from. On the contrary: it means finding new ways to highlight what we already are.
It is this balance between tradition and innovation that has allowed us to build a solid business around Galletas Mariñeiras, a product that was created with the goal of being different and that continues to explore new possibilities today.
Because, for us, innovation isn't just about incorporating technology. It's about rethinking processes, improving every detail, and adapting to what consumers need without compromising our identity.
Growing Up with Purpose
Growth isn't always measured in numbers. Sometimes it's measured in impact. Over the past few years, we've taken significant steps to strengthen our production capacity, diversify our product offerings, and continue to improve in terms of quality and specialization. Part of this development has been made possible by the implementation of projects aimed at modernizing our facilities and improving our processes.
But beyond investments, what really matters is how we grow: by investing in the local community, in local jobs, and in a model that views rural areas as places of opportunity.
A model that originated in the region
Developing a business project in a rural area is also a statement of intent.
It means believing that places like Chantada can produce competitive, innovative products with a promising future. It means investing in an agri-food industry that transforms, adds value, and helps keep people in the area.
In our case, that commitment is part of the company's DNA. It's not a strategy. It's just the way we do things.
Looking Ahead
External recognition is always important. But it’s even more so when it highlights what we believe in: meaningful innovation, responsible transformation, and the value of local products. At Daveiga, we continue to work with the same philosophy we started with: doing things well, with purpose, and with a long-term vision.
Because if there's one thing we know for sure, it's that the future of rural life isn't just something we talk about. It's something we build, day by day.
